QuinCe prevents overlapping datasets within an instrument. Should it also enforce this restriction across instruments with the same platform name? We've had one instance where this happened, and it prevented publication at the Carbon Portal. The user didn't quite get the transition point right.
This would mean that users could only experiment with different setups by using different platform names. But this could actually be helpful because then the export script wouldn't recognise the platform name and abort instantly.
