Regression: dragged items not added to history

Bug description

There was a regression making dragged items no longer get added to Quicksilver's history. This was fixed in #2203. It's possible it was broken when fixing #3064.

Steps to reproduce

1.Drag item from QS to another application
2.Look back in history (not found)

Sorry, by "history" do you mean "recent objects" (in catalog -> quicksilver)?

I just selected an item from my downloads filter and dragged it from QS to my Desktop. That item does appear in my "recent objects." Is that what you meant?

@n8henrie I'm thinking of what I see when I use cmd-[, is that the same as Recent Objects?
Yes, it looks like it is, and for me when I drag I don't see it with either cmd-[ or in the R.O. catalog. When I simply open the file with QS, I do see it both ways. Just now I'm dragging to Terminal, but I believe I've seen the same thing dragging to a number of different apps (Finder, IntelliJ, ...). I've been dragging from Downloads for my experiments as well, strange.

Is there any chance you can give me a step-by-step?

For example:

1. Assume that QS is running (in the background)
2. Invoke QS
3. Select a file (how?)
4. Drag that file onto Terminal.app
5. Invoke QS again
6. Search for the file in QS, note that it doesn't appear (how? Where?)

That's basically it. For 3, one way is "D" for downloads, right arrow and picking a file.
For 6, figure I've selected something in the meantime (open Mail, for instance) so it doesn't come up again as the last item, and then Cmd-[ won't find it. Also, it doesn't show up in the Recent Objects catalog, like it does if I open the file with QS.

I have my Downloads indexed in QS (Catalog -> User, depth 2). Do you? I wonder if that's why I'm seeing something different, because that is already indexed, which may be a confounder.

But it still looks like I can't repro:

1. Using Finder, find a file that is a few directories deep in a random unindexed location: ~/example/foo/bar.json
2. After a fresh startup and indexing, invoke QS and search for bar json; ensure nothing comes up
3. Invoke QS, hit ~, manually navigate to example/foo/bar.json with right arrows
4. Drag and drop from QS to Terminal
5. re-open Firefox in QS (to clear the first panel)
6. ⌘[ and bar.json is there
7. delete to clear the first pane
8. invoke QS and search bar json -- there it is

...

Actually, yes I can repro -- but only on the current release of QS (2.5.3); the reason I couldn't repro above is because I was running a dev build directly from Xcode.

I imagine the difference is because this has been fixed and you're just waiting on a new release?

Oh geez, @pjrobertson seems to have fixed this in #3079, but it was tagged as fixing the old issue (#2203 instead of this one).

So I'll go ahead and close, you're just waiting on the next release at this point! Thanks for the back and forth.
