Field is not available to use in conditional logic

By making a field such as a checkbox readonly it can not be used in conditional logic anymore. Is there a way to allow it to be used in conditional logic.

For example I have a boolean field that says email sent. Once the email is sent "readonly field checked" I want to display more fields.
