We've used the CAC for both 2012 and 2013. It works well and there's some familiarity.

Other ideas:

• A roving, Midpoint like tech conference. Multiple smaller venues instead of one central venue.

I think the better question is what needs, if any, isn't the CAC providing? Or, why could it be better elsewhere?

@procload more intimacy, more breakout spaces. If the format stayed the same (speaker talking to room of people) it works well enough. If we changed it to something like #4, we'd need a hallway and maybe four different rooms.

Cincy Beer week (http://cincinnatibeerweek.com/) has a similar approach with multiple venues and events going on. Doesn't Aiga do this with Design week too?

Could be fun to show off spaces and encourage intimate networking..

IF we're stealing from the Greenville Grok we'd need a venue with a ton of individual breakout rooms/spaces. 200 attendees (too many?) broken into groups of eight is 24 groups, broken into groups of 12 would still be 17 groups.

The Grok solved this by hosting many groups in a large open space but many folks I spoke to afterward said the space was too noisy to follow soft-spoken attendees. With my hearing issues, I found it difficult to follow anyone in the large meeting rooms.

Doing a Grok isn't set in stone yet but I'd sure like to give it a try and find an ideal space will be key.
