Improve sharpness when the document is not parallel to the sensor

Scanned documents are not consistently sharp across their surface. This is related to depth of field and that's especially visible when scanning documents with an angle. Factors that contribute to a low depth of field include:

• short distance to subject
• high focal length
• wide aperture (low F-number)
• large sensor size

Sensor size is fixed and aperture is fixed on most smartphone cameras.
Maybe the app could try to select the best camera/lens rather than taking the default one.

Not sure if my experience is directly related to this issue but I want to note that the exported PDF document loses it's sharpness and the colors are muted/washed, making an original document, such as a document printed from Word or Excel with color, look very old.

@junknstuff It's not related to this issue but the fact that the issue didn't have a description made it hard to guess. I just added a description.
About the problem you mention, could you please send me (contact@fairscan.org) the PDF so that I can have a look? Could it be related to a "difficult" lighting situation? Did you try to switch on the torch?
