안녕하세요 여러분.

몇 주 후 수업부터 논리 세계의 안전성(soundness)에 관한 내용을 공부하게 될 것입니다. 안전성이란 이 논리 체계가 믿을만 하냐를 따져보는 것으로, 우리 수업에서 가장 중요한 개념 중 하나입니다.

논리 세계 뿐만 아니라 현실 세계에서도 "soundness" (여기서는 건강)은 중요하지요. 아래와 같은 유명한 말도 있고요.

이번 학기 수업 내용 뿐만 아니라, 함께 건강한 신체도 단련하고 싶은 학생들은 다음 활동에 참여해보세요.

2학기동안 열리는 카이스트 건강 달리기에 매달 참가 (9, 10, 11월)
현장에서 저와 조교들을 찾아서 인증 사진을 찍고 이 게시판(sound body)에 인증샷 올리기 (가능하다면 기록도)
세 번 모두 완주한 사람에게는 학기 말에 맷집상을 드립니다.

내일 (월) 9시에 신청이니, 관심이 있는 사람은 수업 시작할 때 같이 신청합시다.

컴퓨터의 아버지인 튜링 선생님도 달리다가 튜링기계(현대 컴퓨터의 기본 아이디어)를 떠올렸다고 합니다.

Remember, we discussed the soundness of static analysis today.

In a few weeks, we will begin studying the concept of soundness in the world of logic. Soundness examines whether a logical system is trustworthy, and it is one of the most important concepts in our course.

Not only in the logical world but also in the real world, “soundness” (in this case, health) is crucial. There’s even a famous saying that reflects this:

A sound mind in a sound body

So here is a bonus activity:

Participate in KAIST Fun Run every month (Sep, Oct, Nov)
After completing the race, take a photo provided by the school and upload the link to the photo on this board (Sound Body) (along with your race time, if possible).
I will treat anyone who completes all three races to a drink at the end of the semester.

If you’re interested in not only discussing topics in the classroom this semester but also strengthening your physical health, consider joining the following activities—think of it as an outdoor class:

Participate in the KAIST Health Run every month during the spring semester (March, April, May).
Find me or the TAs at the event, take a verification photo, and upload it to this board (sound body). If possible, include your completion time.
Those who complete all three runs will receive the Resilience Award at the end of the semester.

Registration opens next Monday at 9 AM. If you’re interested, let’s sign up together at the beginning of class.
