Error executing audio or video pxr

Hello to all forum

Some projects give me the following error....

Executing audio.pxr error
or
Executing video.pxr error

The error comes out more with Windows 7 than with Windows 10, you know what it may be???

Which projects? Yours or examples? Anything from v5 times?

Anything in the Output window or dialogs other than that information?

Windows 7 is not supported by the bundled JDK, so that could be a factor too.

Did you have an earlier version installed? How did you get those examples? They are from v5 and won't work in v6.

I have Windows 7 and 10 ( 64-bit )

I downloaded these examples from GitHub. I don't remember the link now, so I'd have to look it up. I didn't know they weren't compatible. I think I installed OpenJDK version 24 for Java, and I also installed gstreamer, which the help said was required to view the video. I've tried PraxisLive versions 6.0 and 6.3. There are some buttons in the program to install examples; maybe I should look at these examples. Could you do me a favor and tell me what version of PraxisLive and Java I need to download, and I'll do it all over again, or post a link with the steps. I don't know if I also have to install OpenGL or a graphics engine. I love this program, out of several I've looked at. I'll be getting a mini MIDI keyboard in a few days, and I'll see if I can configure it with PraxisLive 😁 Thanks for everything, and I'll see if I can fix these errors with your help. Have a good day

Ah, I think the GitHub default examples download is wrong. I'll have a look at that. The download button in the dashboard also downloads (the right zip) from GitHub, and configures them as templates to use from the New Project wizard.

Use the .exe installer which has a JDK built in. No need to install Java then, and it will ignore any you have installed already. Should be nothing else to install, except GStreamer if you want to use video files or webcams.

Install version 6.3 using the installer.
I already opened the examples from the new project menu, and they all worked for me.

What happens is that when using the open project menu I couldn't find examples, and that's why I downloaded them, since having to open them from the new project menu is a bit confusing.

Everything works perfectly for me without errors, I was already surprised that it gave so many errors, and it was because of what you told me, because they were from the old version.

Great! The reason the examples are templates is so that you can edit them and create your own versions. New Project will copy them to your file system, so you can then open them from there, or create new versions.
