Buggy behaviour Ember 3 when typing date values

Sometimes after typing the date input, the date binds and sometimes it just reverts to the old date and doesnt accept the newly entered value.

Date always works when selected through the picker with a mouse but not when entered with keyboard.

In my controller
let time= moment(); template
{{
bs-datetimepicker
date=time
useCurrent=false
dateFormat='DD-MMM-YYYY HH:mm'
noIcon=true
updateDate=(action (mut time))
}}

Seems reproducable using certain 3 letter month Abbr like Dec,Aug, Feb never works.
This addon supposedly supports all options from momentjs
