Do we need LDAP support patches?

We support LDAP Multiplugins and patching therefore PAS. Do we really want to support this in PlonePAS? 
In my opinion this must be moved to PloneLDAP. More modern PAS implementations such as pas.plugins.ldap doesnt need this patches.
