Unable to find an explicit license for the code samples

We've used the Grails In Action book to train developers at work in Grails, and they have produced applications based on the sample code in the book and in this repository.

What is the license to this code?

Perhaps a BSD, creative commons attribution license, or public domain would be appropriate?
