Description
If users choose to use an block list that blocks plausible, then you should respect their decision.
I am sorry, but I don't care if site owners feel """unfairly targeted""" or like """an innocent casualty of this arms race between blocklist maintainers and the adtech industry""" or how "privacy-friendly" plausible may be, if I choose to block all tracking scripts, then respect my decision. (If anything, the tracking script should be called something like plausible.js to make it as easy as possible for it to be blocked if the user desires, but that's a different discussion.)
Yes, it is technologically feasible to work around this and do it anyways and users who really want to will find a way to do this regardless of whether it is documented or not. There is no reasonable way to stop people from doing this.
But by including it in the documentation, you are encouraging people disregarding peoples' decisions on whether or not to block analytics & tracking.
By including the section on bypassing ad blockers, you are signaling that you are fine with your users violating others' expectation to privacy.
I was considering using plausible at some point in the future, until I saw this. And unless this page removed, I will not be using it, nor will I suggest plausible to others in the future.
