        The list of available ring-tones is specified in a file called <code class="literal">Ringlist.xml</code> which the phone downloads from the provisioning server. A maximum of <code class="literal">50</code> &lt;<code class="tag">Ring</code>&gt; entries can be specified.<br>

        Ring-tones are raw PCM (no header), u-law encoded with 8-bits per sample, mono at 8000Hz between 240 and 16080 samples (2 seconds) in length. The example below shows how a <code class="literal">.wav</code> file can be converted to <code class="literal">.raw</code> using <code class="literal">sox</code>.<br>

        <h2 id="Wideband-Ring-Tones">Wideband Ring Tones <a href="#Wideband-Ring-Tones" title="Link">link</a></h2>
        The <b>7800</b> and <b>8800</b> series phones use wideband ring-tones. The list of available wideband ring-tones is specified in a file called <code class="literal">Ringlist-wb.xml</code> which is in the same format as <code class="literal">Ringlist.xml</code>. Wideband ring-tone filenames must end in <code class="literal">.rwb</code>.<br>

        Wideband ring-tones are raw PCM (no header), signed-integer encoded with 16-bits per sample, mono at 16000Hz between 240 and 160800 samples (10 seconds) in length. The example below shows how a <code class="literal">.wav</code> file can be converted to <code class="literal">.rwb</code> using <code class="literal">sox</code>.<br>
