In the file play.yml I enter my local IP but it doesn't work

when i keep localhost it can't make the ssh connection and when i enter the ip of my host that i already use to make ssh connection it doesn't work. with message "skipping: no hosts matched". Do you need to make any more changes to set up a host IP in the play.yml file?

Hey, so I suspect you're failing to connect to localhost because you're not running sshd. See if this works:

ssh localhost

If not, you'll need to install openssh-server and start it, since this is how Ansible communicates with hosts:

sudo apt install openssh-server
sudo service ssh start

Then you should be able to ssh to localhost and run the play. Sorry, I did not think of that, I'm usually targeting remote hosts that have sshd enabled/running, and I always have it running locally too, but it's not default. I'll update the docs, let me know if that helps. Thanks
