I dont know how big the wish is for this among people, but I think rich text would be a nice middle way between Plain Text and HTML.

They still look and feel like a regular email, grabbing the font of the receivers email client, colors etc. BUT the crusial part is that you can hyperlink a word. So you can write something like:

Hello,

Tonight I am playing a concert in your town.

You can buy tickets and get more info about the concert here.

Hope to see you tonight

I think that is a great solution for small info-emails, but happy to take input on this. For now I use HTML (Markdown) for my newsletter, and plaintext for small info mails like this.

Hey Kristoffer, thanks for suggesting this! Wouldn't the Markdown editor fit well for this purpose?

The thing is that emails are sent either in plain text or HTML. If you send HTML emails, they have to include a full layout/design. Maybe you could get closer to what you're imagining by using the Markdown editor and setting the font in the template settings to "System" and setting the background colors to white?

Aha! What I was thinking about replicating would be like if someone sends an email from Macos / iOS mailapp or Gmail in browser for example. Whenever I receive emails like this they have no layout, no background (follows my computers theme between dark and light and uses the system font. Is this still a html-mail?

Edit: Plaintext works pretty well btw. Just exploring options :)

Just a follow-up to say that I received some feedback that my two last plain text emails got in many people's spam folder, while my html-emails were deliverede fine, so I guess I will do only html going forward.
