Current vanity call showing old cancelled license details

I looked up WA1LAD at https://hamcall.dev/WA1LAD.json which reported the callsign belongs to Mr. Frankland of MA and an expiration date of June 24, 1996. The callsign is currently held by Mr. Woodside of RI. The AE7Q history for this call indicates Mr. Woodside has had the callsign since February 2, 1998.

The records at AE7Q even look a little odd. I'm guessing this is because of some bad assumption I'm making coming out of the ULS. Overall improving callsign relationships (past holders, new callsigns) would be nice.
