As an avid speakerbob user, I would at least like to know who is currently using the app. I guess I don't need to know who is generating sounds

Speakerbob does not currently have a concept of auth. Your instance is hosted behind an authentication gateway. I think long term speakerbob will get the concept of auth and this would be a great feature as part of that effort.
