How do properly setup multiple terrains?

I have 2 sets one for grass and one for water I setup the 2 tilesets but I think I made a mistake somewhere can someone help please?

And if I set them up in 2 layers this is how it looks

If you set it with 2 layers, the layer on top should have a transparency. Also, only one atlas per layer would be ideal.

Hi there, I'm facing a similar problem.
The grass & water are on the first layer and work perfectly.
When I add another layer with sand it kind of works, but because these tiles are transparent there is no transition to water. And with grass, sand doesn't connect diagonally. I think this also applies to the example you provided. This way I'd need way more textures, right?
How would you solve this?
