Can i also poll the slaves via Modbus TCP ?

Not currently implemented.

However, the modbus-tk library which is used for all Modbus communication does support Modbus TCP master, so it should be easy to add.

Note that pyserial can connect via TCP, but that's not the same as Modbus TCP; it's for accessing remote serial ports (e.g. via remserial)

I've added experimental support for Modbus TCP in v0.5. Untested, as I have no Modbus TCP devices.

No at this moment! Anyway I suggest you to download ad use
https://sourceforge.net/projects/modbuspal/
It's a great simulator, with AUTOLEARN function, support multiple Slave ID
and random function to assing random data to any register!
Let me know it you find it useful for your test!
