Migrate to Shulker

Shuker is a Kubernetes operator for managing complex and dynamic Minecraft infrastructures, including game servers and proxies.

This means we will be able to dynamically scale our game servers and proxies for a high availability set up.

However this cannot be done straight away:

• - we need Minestom support
  • - This requires Java 21 support being added to Shulker. (Requested)
  • - This requires a custom Shulker agent to be made for Minestom. (Already done, our Minestom core has one included)
• - we need external servers (so we can have stateful Fabric or Forge servers be accessible from the proxies. (Shulker developers like this)

Alternatives

1. Use rusty-connector. We have already tried this, however this software does not manage the entire life cycle of servers (create, update, delete, ...), at its core all it does is synchronise servers onto a proxy. Additionally, there is no support for external servers and Minestom and it is more complex to set up then Shulker.
2. Use Sub Servers 2. We have used this in the past, however development of it has gone stale and it runs all servers on the host - not inside containers which is not the best for security , also, it requires a lot of manual configuration.
3. Wait for Shulker to implement requested features. Probably the best option since Shulker will have all the features we need "somewhat soon".

• Shulker have now fully implmenented a first party agent for Minestom
• and have implemented external servers.
