Would be great to have native FreeBSD support!

Why not docker?

FreeBSD does not have native Docker support (it's not based on Linux). Some experimental code is in the works, but it would be nice to be able to install it as a regular package, like you install Nextcloud—actually, even more so, since it's a compiled application!

Docker (OCI) containers are a mechanism for shipping binaries, along with their dependencies, that run on a particular OS. A Docker Linux container requires Linux. A Docker Windows container requires Windows. A docker FreeBSD container requires FreeBSD.

Docker is a way of avoiding depending on a specific variant of an operating system, but FreeBSD is a different operating system.

I got all the way to compiling the binary, but it fails because GOOS=freebsd

If I change it to GOOS=linux then it builds but obviously doesn't work as the binary created is for Linux.
