lock the scan position after saving

Hi, it would be useful to add a feature to lock the view of the scan (image) at a specified x, y, and zoom level. After editing and saving, the image reverts to its original setting, which can be inconvenient. Do you prefer a solution where the image position data is stored in local storage or in the URI (as it is in IIIF)?
