IMDb's new genres? #332

IMDb has introduced subgenres, about six months ago according to this post.
I wonder why aren't they available through the OMDb API. My guess is that they are proprietary data added by IMDb employees and not crowdsourced and therefore public and available through the dumps. I myself tried to edit a movie on IMDb and I couldn't find them anywhere on the editing forms.
So is that the case? Any insights?
