Installing Hoedown

I want to try this. I'm on Windows. How do I install Hoedown on Windows?

Just looked at Hoedown - 44 issues. Is there another markdown parser that's better?

I have not tried on Windows.
Pandoc might be alternative for Hoedown. I used to use it.
You can switch from Hoedown to Pandoc by just editing commented out lines in gen.py.

OK, pandoc is setup and running but I get this error -

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "G:\mdblog\gen.py", line 35, in <module>
    header = open('html/tmp/_header.html', 'r').read()
FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'html/tmp/_header.html'

I see no files in 'html/tmp', maybe that pandoc command line needs adjusting for working in Windows?

OK, since I've been working with Pandoc lately I seemed to have found the correct command line for Windows -

os.system('cd md && for %i in (*.md) do ..\pandoc "%i" -o "../html/tmp/%~ni.html"')

Everything seems to work and the built site looks good.
