sikuli IDE 2.0.5 or 2.0.6 not starting

Hi,

So I'm facing a situation that I never faced before, I've been using sikuli for 2 years now but I did pause of 8 months of not use, but the thing I'm facing is that when I run the .jar file it just freezes in this screen:

it just stays forever, I have tried several uninstalling and installing several jdk versions, 11, 14 , 21 but still facing the same.

I've search if someone has faced this before but they are really old articles from old versions where a jdk re-installation was supposed to handle it but in this case is not working for me.

I'm using Windows 11 and for now jdk11 and sikuli version 2.0.5 or 2.0.6.

This freeze at the splash screen is a known issue. It is caused by a JNA/AWT initialization race condition — JNA (Java Native Access) loads native libraries before AWT/Swing is fully initialized, which can cause a deadlock. This is a well-documented JNA problem that affects many Java GUI applications.

This has been fixed in the OculiX development build (actively maintained fork of SikuliX). The fix reorders the initialization sequence so that AWT/Swing is fully ready before any JNA calls.

Try this

1. Download the fixed build:
   https://github.com/julienmerconsulting/Oculix/releases/tag/v3.0.1

→ oculixide-3.0.1-win.jar

2. Use Java 17 (Eclipse Temurin recommended)

3. Launch:

java -jar oculixide-3.0.1-win.jar

If the issue persists, also try deleting the cached session data:

%APPDATA%\Sikulix

Please report back if this fixes the freeze.
