I think it's confusing to see the client's IP address after "HELLO" (you would expect to see the recipient after HELLO)

The response format seems wrong as it should be a JSON list (the RFC shows curly braces instead) --- JSON has no set type BTW

Is there anything missing in the RFC preventing it from being implemented right now?

I've made the HELLO command into HELLOFROM for clarity, and fixed the JSON list issue.

Note that the endpoint information could be unpacked as a Python tuple right away, requiring no string splitting.
