I've been using pgModeler for quite some time on Debian 12 with KDE Plasma DE (KDE 5), and of course, I configured pgModeler to use "Kate" as the external editor. After upgrading to Debian 13 "Trixie" (KDE 6, Kate 25.04), something weird happened... the external editor (Kate) was now opening without any content (as a new, empty file).
After some investigation, I discovered that for it to work as expected, you need to use Kate's "-b" option. This means adding "-b" to the source code editor arguments in pgModeler's general settings:
My 2¢.
