Clight disrespect user brightness settings

I came across something very strange.
The clight-gui was operating normally on battery, but when I charge my laptop it fix my screen brightness at a certain level.

When on battery, I am able to adjust my brightness using keyboard shortcuts;
when plugged, the shortcuts is still functional but the brightness will soon drop to about 40% 2 secs after I pressed Brightness+ button.
Anyone have any idea?

I have no idea whether to put this issue in clight or clight-gui...
I put it here because all my clight settings were done via clight-gui.
