how about support for sdl2?

Hello maintainers,

I am currently porting PicoDrive and pcsx_rearmed to an embedded device (Rockchip RK3506G). I’ve found that the current SDL 1.x implementation (via libpicofe) does not initialize correctly.

However, SDL2 works perfectly on this device.

Have you tried sdl12-compat ? SDL port (of pcsx_rearmed) is really basic and is only used for development, it's too much work to rewrite everything for SDL2.
