I would like to request that the system preserve whatever the user types in to a YAML field. Right now, Noop strips the original formatting and comments from what I type in for Pipeline Condition and Workflow fields.
The strongest use cases I can provide for this:
- I like to use comments to "turn off" code when trying things out
- Comments help describe what is actually going on in the code
- Comments also provide needed guideposts for future maintenance
- Not everyone agrees on how to represent sequences and hashes in YAML (e.g. [one, two, three] vs dashes)
- Indentation preferences may differ between users and organizations
