J2497 fails on first power-up

on some units PLC4TRUCKS / J2497 read support fails often on first-connect. Then power cycling the device makes it work. Symptoms include very ‘shotty’ trace on D5 logic capture and no activity at all on D3.

'first-connect' really depends on how long the unit has been disconnected from power. The amount of time to be disconnected from power to cause this issue seems to be in the 8min range.
