Will it only work if erpnext is installed locally?

I have a HIKVISION face + fingerprint attendance module.
But my erpnext instance is online. So can you just tell me would I be able to make it work and sync attendance in realtime.

Does it periodically sync or fetch in realtime, I actually want to mail by users as they login, like good morning and all

Yes, it is possible to integrate your Hikvision face + fingerprint device with an online ERPNext instance. Since the device is on a local network, direct real-time sync is not available by default. It typically requires a small local sync service or a static/public IP setup to bridge the connection.

Currently, attendance is fetched periodically, but it can be configured to work near real-time by syncing at very short intervals.
