Hosting recommendations?

I've tried to install OpenFuego in a couple of environments, most recently a Rackspace Cloud Server. In each environment, the collector, consumer, or both have stopped running within a few hours. Sometimes I got a "fatal error" email notification, sometimes I didn't.

Andrew, can you, or can anyone running an instance of OpenFuego successfully, provide suggestions for an ideal environment to use?

I can tell you that our Fuego instance (the main Nieman Lab one) runs on Rackspace, but I'll defer to Andrew on the details of the setup there. It previously ran on our main web server on Pair.
