Updater is too slow

I'm using updater/updater.phar --no-backup and it's working 15 minutes. This is consuming so much electric power and prolonging an outage period.

I think this may be related to #507.
In my case for only a hand full of users on HDD storage, I currently need around one hour for an update. It is stuck for over 40 minutes in the backup part and another 20 minutes in the delete old files part, which is described in #397.

Yes, that would be my guess too, @addy90.

@msviba Without further details we can only guess. What step are you in? You can also to your data/updater.log file to check on prior updater runs.

May be fixed by #516 , please confirm (but it will only be released with 32).

I tried a manual upgrade of the index.php and updater.phar as explained in #516 and I can confirm: Worked like a charm!
The update, that took about an hour previously, successfully completed within 2 minutes.
When it previously stuck on the backup and delete old files part, the backup now went by within a minute and the delete old files part was done within seconds.
