[Bug]: linux/wayland - clicking the tray icon does not open the main window

Bug description

Clicking the nextcloud icon in swaywm does not open the main window. This was the default behavior until the 4.0.1 update that i just executed. Now It seems that it is impossible to access any settings from sway.

Steps to reproduce

left or right click the nextcloud icon -> nothing happens.

Expected behavior

open the main window or provide a context menu on click

This might relate to #8996 which is on windows. On the other hand the mac version works as expected.

Hello,
I can confirm that I have this issues too:

• Ubuntu 22:04 LTS: .deb install
• Pop_OS!: .deb install
• Pop_OS!: flatpak install

With plasmadeskop-wayland I get a dysfunctional context menu on right click. It would be great if left-click would once again open the main window. There are applications like element (matrix client) that just work fine left/right-click in the tray. I think solutions that only support X11 are not state of the art anymore.

On Arch linux (extra/nextcloud-client 2:4.0.1-1) with Niri compositor, I can see the menu on right click and every option works but Settings.

Settings doesn't do anything when clicked, same when left clicking the icon. No info at all in logs even with debug output :/

On Linux Mint 22.2 main dialog has been broken/invisible since the last update. I thought it was opening on a different monitor and didn't go into it but it seems like it's the NC client.

Same issue here with a Ubuntu 24.04.3, Client Desktop 4.0.1 Flatpack
and also if I try connect on gnome Xorg, it seems not only from wayland issue !!

I have try remove the app (not the data) install a deb package but it not have been installed, reinstall the flatpack...

Steps to reproduce:

• Start the Nextcloud Desktop client.
• Click on the tray icon.
• The dropdown menu appears - all items work (settings, etc.) except "Open Nextcloud Desktop".

Expected result:

• Main window opens normally.

Actual result:

• Nothing happens when clicking on "Open Nextcloud Desktop".
