OS Compatability

I've been developing this ad hoc on different OS's and have a bunch of hacky solutions. 
On new computer's this doesn't easily install depending on the OS because of differences between file systems, package managers etc. 

I want to be able to support and get set up fast with: 

- [ ] Mac 
- [ ] WSL 
- [ ] Linux (native)
