Support for very basic, manual text formatting #34
Description
Is there any interest in adding (guarded behind an option for compatibility) the ability to use things like back-ticks, asterisks, and underlines for inline literal, bold and italics? Having the option of manually formatting these things (even if the logic behind their support is a very basic translation to the equivalent troff specifiers) would be immensely powerful.
