Seeking Advice on Grounding OpenAI for RAG with Large Data Sources (big PDFs, etc)

Hi Innovation Challenge friends!

My team is looking at building a RAG Azure AI Search app, and need to start adding data sources to ground our OpenAI model. We are using the Azure free pay as you go account, and don't want to spend too much to ground our model's response with our data. For large data sources, like big PDFs, what is the easiest way to add them to our model without incurring extra cost?

I'm using this tutorial as a starting point for architecting our RAG solution:

Any advice or links to resources or tutorials would be greatly appreciated!

Update:
We have a team member who is using her free trial account, and we upgraded our model to use the Basic level of service. That seems to allow us to upload larger PDFs to ground the data model.
