TSDZ8 with VLCD5 E02

Hello everyone,

I have a set of TSDZ8 with VLCD5. Factory software ver 5.1. https://github.com/Wacholek/TSDZ8-Factory-FW-5.1
Works ok. Could be better.

There is a E02 when I program config hex with Torqued sensor settings "calibrated" checked.
On factory software in service menu in TE I have 130 and is varies with the force applied on the pedal between 130 and 205 (no torque - max torque)
TE1 is always 0000 and does not change.

Afer I uploaded Katana or Spider hex and than Torque sensor settings with "calibrated" checked I got that error 02.
My settings:

In service menu TE has value 5 or 6 and this value does not change with the pedal torque.
TE1 however is 0000 and it changes with the torque from 0 to 145.

I tested different values and settings. Non of that worked.
When "calibrated" is not checked there is no error and system is assisting but it feels like there is no torque assist. Only cadence assist.
TE and TE1 values are the same with "calibrated" checked.

Any ideas?

When you flash firmware or configuration files you must use the menu "manual programming" otherwise jflash can erase totaly the flash memory and so only the last file is really written in memory.
If the configuration file is lost (due to a following firmware upload with full earase) OSF startup with a dummy configuration that can generate errors.

The ADC torque values displayed when using original firmware are not valid when using OSF. The 2 firmwares uses different "units".

So, in javaconfigurator, you must take care of ADC torque values reported when OSF is already flashed.

Most users report

• an ADC torque offset in the range 150/210 (exceptionally 260).
• an ADC torque max around 450.

OSF reports an error 2 when the ADC torque measured at power on is

• lower than ADC offset - 60
• greater than ADC offset.

I always use manual programming.
I'm doing like that:
Disconnect battery, connect programmer, hit connect, load flash file, erase chip, program & verify, close data file, generate config file, load config file, program & verify, hit disconnect, disconnect programmer and connect battery.
I have tested many ADC torque offset and ADC torque max values. From 0 to 500 and still no go.
I will test ADC torque offset again tomorrow starting from 0 and incrementing by 50 and ADC torque max to 650.

In advanced settings tab you can select up to 6 fields. The tooltip gives the code to be used for each type of data.
For ADC torque sensor, code is = 6

I did the test. No load I have 264 and max load 410.
So I set ADC offset to 280 and ADC max to 450 and still E02.
Javaconfigurator displays info that ADC offset can max be 250. Is this just an info or hard-coded limit in program/firmware?

Min is 257 max 269 over 360° no load.

In the mean time I have uploaded version 3.0_20240802 and it is way better then my factory one. Still sluggish from the standstill but it feels like it is adapting to my torque sensor.

If min is 257 and max 269, There should be no error when offset is set on 280.

Are you sure that e02 is is really an error. There is some comment on

I don't know is it a real e02 error. It disables assistans completly along with a walk assist.
Error e02 turns on after all-segment display test and startup info of SOC/Voltage.
It must be related to the Adc torque since unchecked "calibrated" turns off the e02.

Indeed, it must be related to the torque sensor because the check is done only when the flag calibrated is activated.

I presume that you know that you may not press on the pedal in the 3 or 4 first seconds after power on. It is during this delay that OSF perform the check of torque.

I am aware of that. In this case it does not matter. it seems that I will have to disassemble the motor and realign the torque sensor.
