Looking at the source it seems it has dependencies that are not mentioned:

wolfy87-eventemitter
require
babel

Hence nobody can use this out of the box

Hey guys it seems like the author went through a major refactoring that make it kind of unusable. I've been using a previous version, which does what it should:
in bower.json set

"dependencies": {
"ddp.js": "0.6.0"
}

For now I only used it for methods, my code looks like this

    var options = {
        endpoint: "ws://"+config.analyticsServer+":"+config.analyticsServerPort+"/websocket",
        SocketConstructor: WebSocket
    };    

    ddp = new DDP(options);
    ddp.method("myMethod", [param1, param2, param3],
        function(e, res) {
            if (e) {
                // error
            }
            if (res) {
                // success
            }
        }
    );

I've switched to https://github.com/eddflrs/meteor-ddp which works like a charm and has less dependencies.

Maybe someone could fork version 0.6.0, explain the situation, and add it to this list of ddp clients.

Using version 0.6.0 worked for me.
