Unable to read few characteristics

I am trying to read hardware version number of the ble device:

1. I was able to connect to the device succesfully
2. bond handle is 1
3. able to read other characteristics
4. trying to read service:
   conn.read_by_type(service=service, type=Hardware_uuid)
5. error shown:
   RemoteError: 0x0480: Application Error Codes

The error you get comes from the application, not from the protocol stack. The BGLib implementation most likely works accurately in this case. We'd have to know your application to be able to offer any help with your problem.
