Using ymacs under Firefox running on macOS: how to type the Meta key? #23

Hi @mishoo, this project is quite interesting! thanks!!

I'm trying to use it via Firefox running on macOS, where there ⌘ (command) key differs from the Ctrl key.
In that environment I have no problem using C-n, C-t and C-w since the browser will act on ⌘-n, ⌘-t and ⌘-w respectively.

However, I can get any Meta key to be recognized. Under a macOS terminal you can instruct the ⌥ (option) key to act as an option or as a Meta key.

  • As option the key allows you to compose the character, such as é by typing ⌥e followed by e.
  • As meta, pressing ⌥e is interpreted as M-e.

I can't get neither behaviour under ymacs. Or I have not found how.

I also tried using the Esc key but that also does not work.

I can live without the Option behaviour, since Emacs provides its own character composition commands.
But I would need having access to the Meta key behaviour.

Is there a way to do it under Firefox running under macOS?

Thanks!
