Can't get the installer running, even after running it seperately. "Proton: No compat data path?"

After reading similar issue i have tried running it separately. #3

It looks like this is mostly the same issue as #7 (running the commands manually causes Proton to miss the compat data path), but the last line shows something important:

Authorization required, but no authorization protocol specified

This usually happens when X11 authorization data (like .Xauthority) isn’t available to the process, often due to running under sudo, a different user, or outside the active X session.

If you could share some details about your system, it would help:

• which desktop environment / window manager you’re using (KDE, GNOME, Hyprland, etc.)
• whether your session is X11 or Wayland (just to confirm)
• whether you’re running this script as root

That info will help narrow down the authorization issue.

I think it's probably a Wayland wine thing, tried to troubleshoot it, don't know where to begin lol

hi im logging my own issues with this, i am on endeavour os and i am having the same issue. im not having a permissions/sudo issue however, running it with just ./csp-installer.sh 4 works fine, up until the press enter section. i do not get the authorization protocol question.

running the commands provided in #3 brings up fsync: up and running. and nothing happening.

i tried this both on wayland GNOME, and also LXDE to see if it was a wayland issue, but both didn't work. im gonna continue testing to see what workaround i can come up with.
