I tried this out, the server console prints /IP:PORT lost connection, and the script terminates without further output.

Looking at how old this is, I'm pretty sure it isn't compatible with version 1.4 or even 1.3, which introduced protocol encryption.

EDIT : after some digging around, this will only work with minecraft 1.2.2 ! I'm updating it to 1.4 as we speak, but it may take some time.

You could just switch to node-minecraft-protocol which is already updated to the latest version and has a robust test suite.

Haha, I did end up stumbling on your minecraft protocol, but I wasn't sure it was up-to-date/working. Will switch to it ^^
