qq: do you want it to return an object of links, or should I develop it further--meaning, populating and serving an html file? I'm assuming, but it's fine to just generate a json object stored in a text file including all info (html/xml markup and content) for each individual article?

The API must give a JSON output. No need to build a webpage to show it.
