Regression: when running `make test`, two dozen tests fail with "openai.APIConnectionError: Connection error."

This was introduced by #129 (I bisected).

But how? The main big change was moving fixtures.py to conftest.py and removing most imports from fixtures.

It was introduced by Remove unused imports in test/ and tools/. Now that's still a lot of changes. Which change was it?

It's interference between test_embeddings.py and test_podcasts.py. Presumably something changed in test_embeddings.py that broke auth.

Specifically, test/test_embeddings.py::test_refresh_auth does something that makes later auth attempts fail.
