Initially, the timeline was planned as a vertical stepper, but pagination dots (as shown here and here) offer a cleaner and simpler solution.
A pinned horizontal timeline like this one (disabled on mobile) reflects poor UX design because it blocks navigation to other sections of the site. Conversely, a vertical timeline, while still restricting navigation, feels more natural since it aligns with the site’s overall scrolling behaviour.
Another possibility is to move the timeline to a dedicated page, but this raises the possibility of it being ignored entirely. The simplest user journey is to present every section on the landing page.
