Atmos device ordering changes on load #158

Description

  • Device Order does not appear to persist.
  • Reporter had set up the TEG with a specific order on 01/06 and when the 01/08 playtest started logged in early to find that the order was completely different.
  • Order isn't visible (at least to regular players, but I'm not sure if you can find this info from vv either). As a result the reporter isn't sure which order the devices were in after loading on 01/08, but knows that it was not the same order that it had been set up in.
  • Reporter guessed that its re-generating the devices from left-right top-down as it makes the station (or some other very particular order) and THAT is the order the devices are being re-established in. If not this, then it is scrambling randomly.

Device order is important! Many atmos systems either can't function, or can't function very well/optimally/fast without it.

Repro steps:

  • Make an atmos test loop with a clearly visible order:
    • Make a test pipe loop, with a series of filters one after another. Place the pipes and connector first, then the filters in the shown order:Image
    • Turn on each filter (power toggle order shouldn't matter)
    • At this point, filter 1 should show gas in the inlet, and filter 4 should show gas in the outlet. Other filters should have absolutely no gas visible with the gas analyzer, no gas blinking/flickering in/out, and only the mentioned ports on filters 1 and 4 repsectively should have gas present.
      • If it doesn't, reorder the devices. As an example, If filter 2 is has gas flickering/blinking/present when analyzed:
        • The filter you are analyzing (2) is ticking after the next filter in line (3). (assuming all other device order is correct, this would be an order of 1 3 2 4 in terms of atmos ticks)
        • Unwrench the filter in question (2) and the next filter in line (3), then re-anchor them in the same order you un-anchored them. If any other devices appear to be blinking or have gas present, continue until the gas only appears in filters 1/4 and the pipe connecting them
  • persistencesave <map> current and restart the server.
  • Once loaded in, you'll have to re-add air from your canister to test the order. Gas analyze the filters and observe the state

Expected behavior:

  • The atmos device ordering remains the same, and the gas is only seen in the inlet of filter 1, outlet of filter 4, and the return pipe
