In September 2026 Google will begin demanding developer verification for all Android devices running Google Play services. Unless they back down from this it may become necessary to abandon Android for Linux mobile since it will remain open.

You want Everyone to abandon android for one app vs. not just registering the meshtastic app (not that I agree with what Google is doing at all)?

How about "in addition to" android it is also available on Linux.

No, I want more apps to be available on Linux mobile so that there is choice and there's a firm hand we can use against Google by saying that we are perfectly willing to abandon Android because we don't actually need them. Negotiating from a place of strength is much better than trying to beg from a place of weakness.
