Description
Steps to reproduce
- Restore a snapshot with pinned tabs that were in a discarded state when the snapshot was taken.
Actual behavior
All pinned tabs are loaded simultaneously, even the discarded ones.
Expected behavior, possible causes and additional notes
Discarded tabs are kept discarded. The user has the option to discard all pinned tabs when restoring a snapshot.
Additional words:
Look, I know I have too many pinned tabs and not everyone uses pinned tabs the way I do, but Firefox simply does not presently have an acceptable alternative for my use case (basically bookmarks inside the tab bar that turn into actual tabs when clicked) so I have to rely on various methods to discard them and turn them into quasi-bookmarks. Firefox can be configured to only restore pinned tabs on startup (which I think is the actually sane behavior, as opposed to the default of restoring all tabs) and it keeps them discarded until I actually open them. Which is great because I have a 2018 Thinkpad with 8 GB ram that will absolutely not handle loading 100 web pages at the same time well. Unfortunately Sideberry ignores all of this, and whenever I lose my pinned tabs for one reason or another and have to restore them from a snapshot, it is a HUGE headache. I have not been able to reign in this behavior with other Addons unfortunately and I've tried just about every Addon claiming to prevent unwanted tab loading.
