Approval script cannot be run easily in Eclipse (Debian)

On Windows, the approval script can be run from the IDE file tree (e.g. Eclipse Package Explorer). @BlueIce showed that it is not as easy on a Debian Eclipse. It might help

• to append .sh to the script name
• to make the file executable

When testing with ExampleGoldenMasterTest, it is possible to execute the approval script by using a terminal:
./approve-maxbe.goldenmaster.example.ExampleGoldenMasterTest

In my eclipse installation however, the file is shown as a text file, and cannot be executed directly.

Can the script be executed from the Eclipse project view if you append .sh to the filename?
Although there's seems to be no general agreement to have file extensions for shell scripts on Linux, better IDE integration should be the focus
